Quinn-direct create 700 Jobs in Navan

Insurance giant Quinn-direct are to set up a new European Insurance operation located in Navan whch will eventaully employ up to 700 staffQuinn-direct, Ireland's third-largest insurance company, have achieved impressive growth since starting operations in 1995. Reported profits at the half year 2006 were 123 million euro, up 38% on the previous year. 1,400 staff are employed at the company's existing locations in Cavan, Blanchardsown, Enniskillen and Manchester.
Navan will become the Group's base for their European sales operation. New offices will be built on a prominent site in the town's IDA Business Park, overlooking the Boyne on the way into the town centre. It is expected that the new building will be operational by mid-2008.
Speaking at a press conference in the Newgrange Hotel, Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment Micheal Martin TD welcomed Quinn Direct's commitment to provide up to 700 jobs in Navan as "particularly good news for the North East region." The Minister also recognised " the significant inter-agency co-operation between Enterprise Ireland, IDA and Meath County Council that made this project possible".
It will be a full-service insurance business, employing staff in functions such as claims administration, customer service and sales. Opportunities for people who are fluent in continental European languages will also be created.
